Volunteer
There are many ways to volunteer your time and talent to help grow the Beacon of Hope Hope Fund:
- Join the Advisory Council
The Beacon of Hope Advisory Council is the consultative body of volunteers that assists with the management, marketing and fund raising activities for the Beacon of Hope Fund. The council consists of 15-20 community members and meets the first Friday of every month.
- Become a Parish Ambassador
Parish Ambassadors help spread the word about Beacon of Hope within their own parishes. The possibilities are endless!
- Serve on the Selection Committee
Initial Review Committee: Volunteers come to the Catholic School Office on their own time to perform the initial review of the applications during the month of April. These volunteers select the finalists based on a scoring system. Final Selection Committee: Volunteers perform the final selection of award recipients for the following school year. They review narratives for all finalists and meet once or twice in the month of May.
- Help out with an Event
Serve on a subcommittee or help out on the day of for the Beacon of Hope Ball, a gala held annually in March, the Beacon of Hope Breakfast, held annually in September, or one of the many other friend raising events that occur throughout the year.
- Research/Write Grants
In the comfort of your own home, research and write grant proposals to Foundations and Corporations that support causes like Beacon of Hope.
- Volunteer in the Office
There are many opportunities to assist with mailings, filing and general clerical work.
